Measurement Guide
It’s easy to measure for shutters and blinds. Always measure width x height and take 3 measurements of both as shown below. Minus 5mm from the width and height, this gives you your order dimensions.
Measuring Bay Windows
Depending on which louvre size you choose will determine the start of the measure.
Louvre Size | Extruding back of frame |
63mm | 0mm |
76mm | Plus 7mm |
89mm | Plus 12mm |
Measure your handles
The frame will be mounted past the handles of your window. Measure your window handles on the front and sides of the frame. Normally they will protrude between 40-75mm. You will need to start with louvre size.
Box Bays
Splay Bays
Measure for the back of the frame. Most corners are 135 degrees but we do not need this measurement. If in doubt send us a photo of your window and we will help you measure.

Midpoint
As well as the width and height we may also require the Midpoint which is the distance from the window cill to the top rail of the window sash. The default value is 50% of the window height.
The Midpoint measurement is used for Full Height split louvre shutters, midrails, Cafe Style & Tier on Tier Shutters. You can also choose your own midrail position depending on your requirements.
